AGUA NEA is an initiative that we are promoting to contribute to the care of the environment, especially in the marine ecosystem. This company sells mineral water in metal containers, which helps to reduce the plastic pollution footprint on our planet.
The excessive use of plastic is one of the main environmental problems of our time. It is estimated that more than 300 million tons of plastic are produced every year worldwide, a large percentage of which ends up in the oceans, posing a serious threat to marine life and human health.
That is why AGUA NEA has set a much more ambitious mission than just selling bottled water. The company aims to plant corals for the preservation of the sea, through an action called “1 photo 1 coral”. This initiative invites customers to take a photo with their AGUA NEA water container in a special place and upload it to social media with the hashtag #1photo1coral. For every photo uploaded, the company commits to planting a coral in the sea.
The importance of corals for the environment is vital, as these organisms are responsible for creating reefs and hosting a large number of marine species. However, human activity has caused coral degradation and reef loss worldwide.
